High wastewater temperatures can disrupt the balance of microorganisms by either accelerating or inhibiting microbial activity, affecting the efficiency of the treatment process. Elevated temperatures can lead to foul-smelling compounds being released because of the proliferation of odor-producing bacteria in wastewater.
Formula 88H can speed up the biodegradation process in high-temperature wastewater. It contains thermophilic bacteria capable of reducing biodegradable wastes including surfactants, solvents, cellulose, FOG, and petroleum hydrocarbons in water temperatures as high as 125ºF.
